During the interview, Peter Bortfeldt, a piano accompanist, and a renowned tenor, Josef Protschka, discuss about what singers should keep in mind and the things they should be looking out for.

"But sticking with the basic advice, I would say it's about the relationship between mind and emotion; to depict a variety of emotional expression and illustrate the many vocal colours. It enables young singers to reach their audience. So a purely technical and virtuoso training, which is necessary and which also occurs, and a pure training in interpretation without exploring the vocal possibilities are both insufficient in themselves. There has to be a combination - and I think I coined a term for it myself - which I call the inner scene. This means that in addition to vocal control, a singer must above all be aware of which emotion the character that he or she is portraying in the song, opera, on stage, in an aria, should be depicted." － Josef Protschka
